Last week I was at my son's football practice, I was a little bored and just plained tired sitting there. In the car I had the Ricoh GR III, so I decided to go get it. I didn't want to go to far for the field, so I just walk around and take casual photos to see what I could find.

It was around 8PM, didn't have that much time left.

Without even realizing it, I was almost out of natural light.

It was now time for night photos. no biggie, the Ricoh can handle it.

Starting the walk at ISO 800 ending up at 1600, always at 2.8 because I was handle after all. However I was at a low shutter speed, testing out the capabilities of the camera stabilizer in there, this following shot was taken at 1/10th of a second, and believe me there is no shake here:

These 3 were taken at 1/15th:

For these last shots I was back at ISO800 because they were lite by the park lights:

I felt like the lighting on these houses were surreal, almost like I used the flash, wasn't sure at first but looking back I like them.

My point here is this: Sometimes, it's hard to find motivation, what to do? what to shoot? where to shoot? Inspiration can come from odd places, here I had a camera on me (or two), I was at a place I hadn't explored before, so I just decided to walk around and take my chances. I'm happy with the photos I got, I had 0 expectations. I was able to find interesting scenes with very ordinary spots you wouldn't think of.

There are more photos from that night, I failed to mention above that there was another camera in the car, the Olympus Pen FT half frame camera, loaded with Tri-x. However I did not finish the roll yet, sorry about that, so look forward to the conclusion of this story with a few film shots.

Thanks for reading!
