Here is the first set with Maimiti from 2015 where we spent a little time at Orange Julep in Montreal.

This is very different than what I'm doing today, smooth, clean, saturated (not subtle at all) and very much retouched. Anyway, I like the last shots where I made her twist and turn, made some nice movement and natural posing.

Today I would had very much grain to these :)

These were taken with the Nikon D700. I remember I was a little bothered with the people in the background, especially the cars, I would have wanted her alone with the big orange in that parking lot, would have been amazing. However I also shot some film here, I shot a few frames of expired Fuji color press 800 on the canonet.

I wasn't crazy about these photos back then, most of these I never published anywhere, but looking back here, I think these make sense now, at least in my head.

The contrast between her beauty & glamour vs the indifferent people & the gritty scene in the back (with the trash cans lol) makes these odd and interesting in my opinion.

Sure there were people in the background also in the digital shots, but they were more out of focus and focus was concentrated on Maimiti, here it's more about the global scene.

And I believe the film shots are timeless of course, compared to the processing on the digital which I feel is very dated and don't hold up the test of time.

Anyhow, in the end it's all subjective, so enjoy as always and have a great weekend!
