Let's start with this Lomography 100 set with Natasha taken on the Holga 120N.

I think I had my fix of the Holga, Used it a lot lately, plus I used it outside with the sun shining like I wanted, but I think it's now time for Miss Holga to rest a little, probably until next summer. It's a cool little camera, I would recommend for anyone like me trying to experiment, always fun to anticipate these imperfect results.

As for this shoot, we didn't have anything planned really, all we knew is that we were going on a photo walk in Montreal around her place. I didn't even know how she was going to style the shoot, I gave her "carte blanche" here. Outfit changed last minute because it was a not anticipated hot day, not the regular autumn weather we though we were going to have. Anyway I like how she styled this, I knew she was going to have something simple yet very representative of her style.

This was my fifth shoot with Natasha if we count the virtual shoot we had during covid. Every collaboration was special and interesting in it's own way. Natasha is the funniest and most intriguing woman I ever shot with. We complete each other very well, pretty much the same sense of humour, plus she has no filter at all, you gotta admire that. Seriously, we had so much fun on this walk talking about all kinds of things that I was forgetting at times to actually take pictures. You can say that I wasn't really prepared, I had no clue of any concept in mind, I was just going on a walk looking for interesting light, that was my plan. Thing is, light at this hour is not the greatest inspiration for me. She was even surprised I called a shoot at 3pm, because I thought that's what she was aiming for, for some reason, but at dusk would have been preferred for both of us in the end, anyway it is what it is.

At one point, we were telling each other how much these photos would suck balls and that this would be our worst collaboration yet. We were fearing the "too casual" tacky photos. This is why at the end there she proposed we go inside her place and take a few shots, just a few photos inside my comfort zone you know., in case what we took outside was complete crap. You can see a few of these in the preview post.

So when I delivered the photos, I wasn't afraid of the verdict, I knew we had some good shots, but I didn't expect her to like these photos this much, she loves them. The usual; I look bloated here and my face is kinda fat there, but overall she was thrilled. Even her sisters said that these were the best photos she ever got, I'm not kidding I have the screenshot proof ! But seriously, it's all good, I'm happy I made her smile that day and that I could capture these moments with her, I don't think these are my most meaningful photos ever, but we had a great time and that is priceless in this post-covid day and age. I'll have great memories from this day and I would shoot with her again anytime.
