Superia 1600 with Arianne (Patreon)
Content
Here is the full set of Fuji Superia 1600 taken on the Olympus 35SP from last week with Arianne.
Arianne is from Shawinigan in Quebec, she approached me a while ago, however we are quite far from each other, until 2 weeks ago she contacted me saying she was doing an impromptu backpack trip to Montreal and wondered if I would be interested to hang out and shoot. I said of course. During our conversation I told her I was not quite inspired to shoot in my studio anymore and was favouring a real environment like an apartment or even outside. She told me she was staying at a friends for a few days and that she was cool with us shooting in there. I was happy about that since I am now moving out of the studio, I will be looking for occasions like this one a lot more since I will keep on shooting.
This was fun, it's much much more inspiring for me to shoot in places like this instead of an empty studio. On location shoots are more work to plan ahead but so refreshing, each time discovering a new environment thus a new quest for light every single time.
As for this film set, shooting expired Superia 1600 is taking a chance, I would not take the risk of shooting just that if I were you, I always get digital photos so I can take these risks, this is the beauty of shooting hybrid. It's a noisy film, plus it was dark, we started at 7pm, light only goes downhill from there. I like a couple of shots in there, but I'm not super pleased about this roll in general. I'm thinking maybe I should have used some black and white instead, I could have pushed HP5 to 1600 or 3200 easy anyway. Will keep that in mind for next time.
I prefer the digital photos here, 5 sets coming up, stay tuned.
Have an awesome weekend!
