When I saw your stream where you saw pretty much every single Lily's Garden ad up to that point (I couldn't see it live due to my hectic schedule, but I made sure to see the archived stream later that evening), your reactions to the ads were absolutely priceless! Here was a series of ads that featured drama, intrigue, cheating on boyfriends...stuff that would be more typical of TV dramas, soap operas, and the like. That the makers of these adverts were able to get away with that sort of material on YouTube is truly something else. And yet as crazy as these ads can get, they are clearly more interesting than not only the Lily's Garden game itself, but also mobile game ads in general. Upon watching your mobile game ads livestream back in February, I saw how shameless and awful a lot of the ads can be. Yes, there are the occasional ads that have decent production value and are inoffensive, but others can be virtually unwatchable and/or quite misleading. It seems that, too often, the ads have nothing to do with the games that they're trying to promote...in other words, it's the old bait-and-switch technique. Seeing how big mobile games have become, it seems that the people behind the trashier ads tend to get away with it more times than anyone could count. Lily's Garden is likewise guilty of having misleading ads...anyone who watches the ads and hopes that the game has a similar story will doubtless be disappointed that Lily's Garden is basically a Bejeweled/Candy Crush clone. There must be thousands, if not millions, of Match-3 mobile games out there, and I reckon Lily's Garden tries to stand out from such a crowded field with its adverts, which-misleading as they are- end up being clearly more interesting than the game itself. Also, microtransactions? I tend to avoid those like the plague. When I play a game, I'd rather play it as long as I like to without being forced to fork over some money just to keep playing. That's why I don't really play mobile games and just stick to the Switch for my gaming pleasure. Therefore, I don't blame you for giving up on the game after the microtransactions got to be too much for you...they may be here to stay, but that doesn't mean people have to like them. As for the video itself, it's an interesting change of pace to see you tackle a series of mobile game ads in what I reckon could be a prelude to the other mobile game ad-related videos that you're currently planning on making for us. As I said, the ads are intriguing, even if they have nothing at all to do with the actual game, and seeing your WTF reactions to the ads are even more interesting than either the ads or the game. This is also one of the rare times that you have reviewed a game-you did the same for The Pilgrim's Progress quite a while back-and there was clearly not much to say about it because, again, it's little more than a Candy Crush clone/ripoff/whatever. Lastly, Nick Ha continues to kill it not only with the editing, but also with the little editor's notes that add to the entertainment value. All in all, a video that's a bit different from what you usually tackle, but one that has the same old Saber magic all the same...after a year of being a subscriber on your YouTube channel and supporting you here on Patreon, I am STILL ready for more of the classic Saberspark goodness! See you next week, Saber...and good luck with bouncing back from your sinus infection! =)
