You've covered some super bizarre cartoons in your time, but this one...it just SCREAMS insanity! It has gunplay, impalements, drowning...pretty much every manner of violence imaginable. And this aired on children's television?! And the people behind the network were (mostly) cool with it?! I guess Japan has different standards when it comes to what's considered acceptable on kids TV. You wouldn't find this on Cartoon Network, Nickelodeon, or on any channels that still aired Saturday Morning Cartoons if it had aired in North America back in the day (I could, however, see this being on Adult Swim). But you know what really made me happy about this video? The fact that you really enjoyed Popee! While I do enjoy hearing you talk about bad and/or failed cartoons, it's always heartwarming to hear you gush about the cartoons that you genuinely enjoyed. You've done it with Beastars, Red Shoes, Scary Godmother, Animalympics, and Primal, among others. Hearing you sing the praises of a show that's almost too bizarre to be real (and yet it is) is, therefore, quite a joy. This show seems to have been tailor made for your channel-even though it was made long before your channel even existed-and as such, this video was surely a long time coming. I'm glad it was worth the wait in the end! I'll be seeing you soon, Saber...until then, please take care of yourself! =)
