I knew that the one thing that could pull me away from Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity would be your Tripping the Rift video. Since my early days of being a fan of yours, I've known that you've been wanting to talk about Tripping the Rift for a long time, and now that you have done so, I can see why the show really didn't catch on, despite somehow getting 39 episodes and a movie. There are adult animated shows that offer plenty of substance that can hold one's interest, which is why Bojack Horseman, Rick and Morty, Primal, and other shows were/are able to thrive and not overstay their welcome. But then you got this show, which offers little beyond going over the top with its mature humor. It's sort of like Stripperella all over again: plenty of mature content, but little substance and/or interesting ideas beyond that. It's never a good thing when the creators of the show are so focused on piling on the mature humor and references that they forget to come up with interesting stories, characters, and/or anything else that would make the show worth watching. Naturally, the video itself had plenty of cool moments, from the appearance of the anthro cat (because we can NEVER escape from anthro characters, it would seem =P), to your pointing out that other CGI shows from the same period or earlier had better visuals, to how Tripping the Rift was part of a failed effort to make CGI-animated shows for adults (much like Father of the Pride, which you covered near the beginning of the year). Plus, Nick's editing is ultra-cool...his editing skills seem to be of the same style as Henri's, to the point where I can't tell the difference as to who edited which videos without looking at the credits in the description. That's not a complaint, mind you...both editors are equally very talented and awesome, and I look forward to seeing more of their editing work in future videos. More importantly, I hope that YouTube won't get too upset-or preferably, won't get upset at all-with this video... Anyway, thanks for delving into the crazy world of adult animation for us once again, Saber. I look forward to seeing what's coming our way next. I reckon that one movie with the dancing alien frog thing will be covered in the near future, and judging by recent tweets and liked tweets, Quick Vids of the new Animaniacs, Adventure Time Distant Lands: Obsidian, and/or The Wonderful World of Mickey Mouse might end up coming our way, as well. I'll be sure to check them all out as soon as I can (as my schedule in the coming weeks is gonna be chaotic as all get out, but you can bet that I'll still make time to check out your videos, old and new)! Take care of yourself, Saber, and I'll see you soon! =)
