I wanted to share a stand-out memory of mine as a Degrassi fan.  Being in this room was such a lovely feeling and it's so nice there's a little video to share with you!

Back in 2019, I flew to Toronto for an event called DegrassiPaloooza. About 25 Degrassi cast members came together for 3 days to celebrate the history of the original series.

They had meet and greets, photo ops, autograph sessions, discussion panels - you name it. One of those panels was on The Kids of Degrassi Street, it featured:

  • Co-creator, Kit Hood
  • Head Writer, Yan Moore
  • Publicist, Kathryn Ellis
  • Actor, Stacie Mistysyn
  • Actor, Arlene Lott
  • And Actor, Lisa Williams

If you watch until the end, you'll see your favourite podcast host ask a question decked out in her Degrassi gear ;)

This event was just six months before Kit Hood passed away. It's so beautiful that he got to see just how much of an impact he made and how many people still resonated with his stories.

Check out the panel and see a couple Degrassi fans talk shop with some of the most impactful people in the show's legacy!

Kids of Degrassi Street panel at Degrassi Palooza 2019

At Degrassi Palooza we had a tribute panel to The Kids of Degrassi Street for the 40th Anniversary of the shows. What a legacy left behind by co-creator Kit Hood and we continue to honour him. This would be Kit's last public speaking panel before his passing in January of 2020. speaker guests included Kit Hood Yan Moore Kathryn Ellis Stacie Mistysyn Arlene Lott Lisa Williams Although this was originally only going to be used as an Audio Podcast the coverage by the single camera was really well done so you can enjoy seeing the faces of the fans in the room.

I feel so lucky I got to be there! I also had a one on one meeting with Kit, Yan, Kathryn, ‘Mr. Radditch’ and ‘Ms. Avery.’ It was so cool to get to talk to them one on one about the show!
