Why Do You Love The Degrassi Kid Podcast? (Patreon)

I NEED YOUR HELP! What keeps you coming back? How could being a Patron become even BETTER? What can you expect in Season 2? Let’s dive in!

What's New for Season 2?

  • The podcast will be available on more streaming platforms
  • The logo/branding will be freshly redesigned
  • Social media promotions will be more streamlined
  • The format of the podcast will change!

How will the format change?

  •  I have an idea! In Season 2, I want to dive into history, context and analysis of the overall Degrassi franchise. Providing a backstory to each generation of the show so every fan can feel included, learn more about their favourite show and still enjoy the podcast when I talk about episodes they haven’t watched yet!
  • To do this, I’d like to have a guest from each generation navigate us through Degrassi’s biggest moments week-to-week.
  • For example: I’d like to kick off the season with a “History of The Kids of Degrassi Street” episode. Explore how the series got made, deep dive into stand-out moments and share behind the scenes facts!
  • Then, the following week, have a Kids of Degrassi Street actor (or someone prevalent from behind the scenes) be a guest on the podcast! Adding their unique perspective to the history of Degrassi and their time on the show. And answering your questions!
  • The third week: Tackle Degrassi Junior High & Degrassi High through a similar deep dive. With guest stars like Joey Jeremiah or Caitlin Ryan to share their stories on week four! And so on.. until we get to Degrassi: Next Class.
  • Hearing your feedback on this will be huge in how I move forward over these next few days!

I have to go with a list... 1. Others have already said this. But it’s you - your passion, your encyclopedic knowledge, your sense of humor and positive attitude, plus your personal connections and anecdotes about being a superfan. I wouldn’t want to be prescriptive in any way because it’s fun seeing where you take the show each week. 2. More of the same or wherever your enthusiasm and intuition takes us next! 3. I just want to pitch in so you can keep doing the show. 4. Your current Patreon rewards are awesome - especially early access and the level of interactivity over here - asking questions, getting shout-outs, etc. Completely optional, crazy wish list option… maybe? A one-time Live Zoom Q&A with Patreon supporters and a special guest of your choice…if anyone would even be into this. I feel like this could be a logistical nightmare, though, so it’s just a crazy idea and nothing that we NEED. 5. I’m in! I love the new format idea. Again, anywhere you want to take us sounds awesome.

1.) It’s not just an episode recap podcast. You actually dive into the topics they deal with and the whole history of the show. I learn new things every episode! I also cannot wait to return to Toronto because thanks to you I have several new places I would like to check out! 2.) So this answer I suppose would tie in with the last Question. I love the new concept you want to go with, I also do appreciate how it is already put together because it makes sense. But I would love to touch on those hard hitting subjects and then have someone on, whether it’s a writer or an actor that had something to do with it. Also, i think it would be cool to touch on topics that occurred in every generation of degrassi. This could also give fans who have been through whatever the topic is give their take and experiences. 3.) The amazing content you provide, duh :) 4.) Honestly, I don’t have any ideas. I think it’s already great. I see someone suggested on fan requests and that seems like a great idea.
