Volume 3.5 Chapter 27:

"Mmhmm!" Keith nodded. It was time to get to work. He took out the ingredients he needed. First off, he tossed some potatoes into a pot to boil.

While the potatoes boiled, Keith diced some carrots and onions. He poured some oil into the pan and fried the vegetables. He tossed in some peas as well. While that continued to cook,

"You're using a variant today as well?!" Cadmus's eyes brightened when he saw the meat.

"Mmhmm, I'm going to use it," Keith smiled. He took two knives and started to mince the meat.

Slowly, the meat became minced up. I really need a grinder. Keith sighed. His hand was going to hurt tomorrow. Keith looked at the vegetables. Good, they're cooked. Keith tossed the minced meat in there, cooking it together.

"Ahh, the smell is so great!" Cadmus couldn't help but mutter. He was in awe. Sohma shook his head, "You need to calm down."

"You like it too!"

"..."

"What is that smell?" Gabriel and Arlo came out of the building. Sohma smiled,

"Did the two of you choose your rooms?"

"Mmhmm," Gabriel and Arlo nodded. It was a simple procedure. The two turned to Keith, who was focused on cooking,

"You guys are lucky," Cadmus sighed.

"It's quite the sight, right?" Sohma questioned.

"Mmhmm," Gabriel nodded, "I've never seen him quite like this," This was a surprise. Keith was really focused.

It's almost finished cooking. Keith quickly took something out of his storage.

"Is that stock?" Cadmus questioned.

"What's stock?" Diana and the two students were confused.

"Mmhmm. Stock is a liquid that comes from simmering bones, vegetables, and spices together." Keith explained and added, "This stock is made from the bones of the rush bull,"

"You animal!" Cadmus grabbed his face as he stared at it. A broth made from the bones of a rush bull variant?

What was he cooking up?!

"Hehe," Keith rubbed his nose. Even he was curious about it as he poured the stock into the meat and vegetable mixture. There was a sizzle before smoke came from the plate.

"It smells so good!" Gabriel stated. Arlo was a little surprised by the smell as well. Keith let it simmer as he worked on prepping the other dishes. He came back to it and tasted it,

"Delicious,"

"Keth! This is so unfair!" Cadmus roared as he pointed at Keith! The others couldn't help but pout as well. This man was always getting a head start again!

"Chef's privilege," Keith stated as he took out a baking tray. He poured the meat and vegetable mixture in. He took the potatoes he had boiling.

"They're good to go," Keith smiled as he mashed the potatoes, turning them into a paste. He spread the mixture on top of the beef. What he did next was place it into the oven to bake.

He turned to see that everyone had an excited look on their face. Keith scratched his head, "Have the two of you finished choosing your rooms?"

"Mmhmm," "They all look so nice," Gabriel and Arlo marveled.

Keith scratched his head, "I want to make it better before you guys join. Sorry about that,"

"There's no need to worry about it!" Arlo waved his hand.

"We'll help you out," Gabriel chuckled.

"That's great! Also, you guys can look around if you want. I'm going to be cooking some other dishes," Keith smiled as he started to cook the other dishes. He was excited to have two new students here.

...

"You cooked with everything you had," Cadmus stated as he stared at all the food on the table. There was too much to count. Keith scratched his head,

"That's because we're having a celebration today! That's why I went all out,"

"..." Cadmus stared at the food in wonder. Should I make more students join Keith's island? He was really curious now. Would that mean more food?

"It seems I'm the last one to arrive," Aidiun walked to the group. Keith shook his head,

"Professor Aidiun, you're not late. You're on time." The last dish was still baking.

"Professor Aidiun is here as well?" Gabriel was surprised.

"Oh yeah!" Keith almost forgot to mention, "Aidiun is the manager of our island,"

"Is that why you were so calm with everything in class?" Gabriel stared at Keith.

"Who cares about that! Keith, when is the dish ready?" Cadmus stared at the oven. It was still ticking down. But Keith laughed, "Relax. It will be finished in a few seconds,"

Ding.

"And it's done," Keith laughed. He wore some oven mitts as he took the tray out of the oven.

When he opened the oven, the aroma came out! Everyone was surprised.

"The smell is so much stronger!"

"How did it get stronger?!"

"What did you make, Keith?!"
