Volume 3.5 Chapter 21:
The rush bulls continued to graze the field without paying anything in mind. They never realized they were about to turn into prey.
However, there was one.
"Moo!" The black bull's instinct kicked in! Danger! That was what it felt. He tried to get the others to quickly move. But it was too late. A giant earth wall was erected between the black bull and its herd.
"It's smart as well," Keith smiled as he stared at the bull. It was different from the others. Defeating a lot of them, Keith knew their habits. But this one was different from the others.
"I'm going to beat you," There was no way he was going to let it escape.
"Moooh!" The bull roared as it slammed his feet onto the ground, dashing at Keith. Keith quickly jumped, dodging the rush.
"It's quicker than the others," Keith realized the specs on this bull weren't like the others. It was more fierce. And the strength it had surpassed them as well.
And the bull wasn't done as it quickly shifted its body and dashed at him again!
One was not enough!
"You can do that?" Keith quickly dodged again. He was surprised. Usually, it would take time for them to change direction. And it wasn't only that.
"It got faster." The second time it rushed at him was much faster than the first. The bull continued to charge at Keith.
"Hmpf!" Jumping up again, Keith brought his blade and swung it down, wanting to take the bull's head off. But the bull moved its horn, clashing with his sword.
Crick!
"!" Keith quickly backed away. It's as strong as steel! No! Keith looked down at his sword. It was a regular iron sword. And there was a crack on it. That was how strong the horn was.
I need to use magic to deal with him.
"Moo!" The bull dashed at Keith again. What it didn't know was he was prepared for this!
From the ground, an earth wall popped up! The bull slammed through it, breaking it. It was like a sheet of paper. More earth walls continued to pop up from the ground.
The bull continued to slam through them like no tomorrow. When it came to the end, Keith wasn't there! The bull looked around, waiting to find out where he went.
Too late. Keith came flying down again. He wasn't done as the ground dropped from the bull's feet! It was trapped. Keith slammed the sword down. The head was sliced clean off.
"That was something," Keith wiped the sweat off his face. He didn't think it would take so long to defeat them. Keith quickly devastated the giant earth wall.
"Good job, Aria," On the other side of the wall was Aria. She had finished off the rest of the bulls.
"Ho," Aria nestled her head onto his cheeks.
"Rush bulls are nothing compared to you," Keith stared at the one icicle plastered into the bull's neck. One hit KO. The bulls were defeated in the quickest fashion.
Keith quickly placed all of them into his storage, "Let's go and search for other things!" He was excited. There was no way the fire wasn't lit after obtaining something great!
...
"Madison, I'm back," Keith entered the guild again. And when he entered, Madison smiled, "Welcome back, Keith,"
"Here's everything for the quests," Keith stated as he brought out all the things from the quest. Madison nodded and started to process all of them. This was the usual scene.
"Wow, there's a lot of stuff," Someone placed their arm around Keith's shoulder,
"I did do a lot of quests, Dennis," Keith smiled. Dennis was the leader of the party, Howling Star. After Keith saved him, Howling Star thanked him like no tomorrow. He got close to them because of this.
"But why do you keep doing F-rank quests? You could easily do an E-rank if you want," Dennis was confused. Keith's skills were way above an ordinary adventurer.
Keith smiled, "That's because it's fun,"
Madison added, "That's all of them. Do you have the rush bulls?" She didn't see it in the pile.
"Mmhmm, I have a lot here," Keith brought them out. But when everyone saw it, they were shocked.
"There's a variant in the pile!"
"Variant?" Is that what you call them?
Madison explained, "From time to time, there would be a variant in a monster. They would be much stronger than the others,"
"I see," Keith's eyes sparkled, "Does that mean the meat and other aspects would be different as well?"
"Mmhmm," Madison nodded. Keith's eyes brightened ten-fold. Everyone in the guild backed away from Keith when they saw that.
It was a strange sight.
"Are you going to hand it in, Keith?"
"I'm keeping it!" Keith roared. The quest never said it wanted the variant! It wanted only five rush bulls! The rest was his!
