Volume 3.5 Chapter 18:
"Keith, do you like being in the center of attention or something?" Tristan couldn't help but give a dry chuckle as he stared at Keith. He couldn't believe he would do something like that.
No.
He should have expected something like that. It was Keith, after all. And the man himself was too calm with everything.
Keith tilted his head, "Hmm? But isn't it normal for students to advertise their islands on the bulletin board?" He thought what he did was pretty normal. There were a lot of people recruiting students on the board. Why couldn't he do the same thing?
"That's because your requirements are out of this world," Tristan sighed. His requirements were something no one would think of. It was the bare minimum. Most islands would have many requirements.
His is like the most barebone thing ever.
"I don't mind who joins my island. As long as they're friendly and open-minded, it's fine for them to join," Keith answered. The concept of race didn't matter to him. They were all people.
"There's also the thing about you being a freshman having an island as well," It was unheard of for a first-year to have their own island.
"Then I'm the first person!" Keith smiled.
"..."
"You're not getting through to him, Brother," Carolyn shook her head. Once Keith did something, he wasn't planning to change it any time soon. That was the type of person he was.
"...Hah," Tristan took another big sigh. Persuading him was pointless.
"Anyways, what kind of food did you bring this time?" Carolyn stared at his lunch box. Keith smiled,
"I made some tomato pasta plus some cubed steak from yesterday," He made a few too many steaks yesterday. But Diana and Fira ate like there was no tomorrow. And he couldn't forget about Cadmus. Everyone ate like beasts.
"I want some," Carolyn muttered.
"Sure," Keith took a fork. He twirled some pasta and fed Carolyn.
"Good?"
"Delicious! Did you do something to the steaks? It tastes different,"
"Of course, you would notice that," Keith chuckled.
"Mmhmm,"
"I went outside the city to pick up a few herbs outside. And I found some that were perfect for basting the steak,"
"It's tasty!" Carolyn commented as she opened her mouth again. Keith smiled as he fed her again.
He kept doing it for a while.
"Can the two of you stop with this?" Gabriel grimiaced.
"Hmm?" Carolyn and Keith tilted their heads as they stared at him.
"You guys are acting like a married couple," Tristan added.
"We are?" Keith tilted his head. And Carolyn added, "We do this all the time,"
"What? You guys have been doing this all the time?"
"Yeah. When we were kids, I would feed this piggy like no tomorrow," Keith would always do this.
"Hey! I'm not a piggy!" Carolyn glared at him. But that was instantly shut down when Keith placed another piece in her mouth. Her expression brightened as she chewed the steak.
"Ahh," Carolyn pointed at her mouth again. Keith did the same and continued to feed the girl.
"I've been meaning to ask, are the two of you engaged?" Gabriel had to ask this question. The way the two acted was something. It was common for kids to have an engagement at a young age.
"No," "Nope," Carolyn and Keith shook their heads.
Keith added, "I don't think the king would do something like that for Carolyn," Carolyn was dotted on by Julius. There was no way he would let Carolyn have an engagement.
That was how much he cared about the girl. If something happened to her, he might go crazy.
"And I doubt anyone would want to marry this piggy,"
"What do you mean?!"
"Imagine you with another person is weird." Keith laughed. Carolyn with another person, that person either had to be another energetic person or psycho.
"..." There was a moment of silence.
"What?" He turned to Tristan and the others. They looked at him strangely.
"Nothing," The others looked down at their food, trying their best not to stare at him.
"I'll show you! I will get married and show it off!" Carolyn stated with a pout.
"Don't ever let Uncle Julius hear that," If Julius learned of Carolyn saying this, he might cry tears of blood.
"Hmm?"
"...Nothing," Keith sighed, "Here's another bite," Keith continued to feed her.
