Volume 2 Chapter 61:

The next day,

"Po!" "Keith, are we really going to get a better oven?" Mir and Fira questioned Keith.

They were shocked there wasn't any bread. But when they heard about the creation of the oven, their expressions did a 180!

"Mmhmm, Orin said he would have a working product today," Keith laughed at the two.

"Yay! Bread!" Fira shouted in joy.

"Po!"

"Orin, we're here!"

"Come out, you bumbling dwarf!" Michael screamed out.

"You did not need to add the last part!" Orin glared at Michael. But he turned to Keith,

"You guys are early."

"I wanted to see the test product." Keith was really excited about this. He questioned,

"Is it finished,"

"Yep." Orin nodded, "The prototype is in the back." Everyone's eyes brightened when they heard that. The group went to the back and saw the silver box.

"It's the exact same copy on the parchment," May stated.

"I tried my best to follow everything you've drawn." Orin followed the blueprints down to the T.

"Let's test it out." Keith had taken out some dough. He had it ready for testing. Keith looked at Orin,

"Are the buttons the same as I designed?"

"Mmhmm. I made it to your specifications." Keith looked at the dials on the side of the button. One was the temperature settings. While the other one was the timer.

Two dials. That was more than enough to use it. Keith set the temperatures up to high to preheat the oven. After a few minutes, he placed the dough inside.

"We just need to wait now." Keith smiled as they waited. While they were waiting, Keith looked through the window.

"How did you make the glass?" Keith was curious about it.

"I had to layer a lot of them together. And I mixed some minerals to make it stronger than normal." Orin stated. That was why there were some bright specks.

"I see,"

Tink! The sound of the timer stopped. Keith smiled and took it out of the oven. And when he placed it on the table,

"This is what we usually make!" Fira shouted. It was the exact same.

"Horah! We can have more then!" Michael jumped up in the air in victory. Orin smiled, and Michael patted his shoulders, "You actually did something good."

"Shut it," Orin brushed him off. But he was happy about this. He turned to Keith,

"We can- What's wrong?" Orin questioned. He noticed the weird expression on Keith's face.

"This isn't right?"

"Hmm?" The others tilted their heads.

"The bread is burnt on the top," Keith stated.

"Isn't this what we normally have," Michael questioned.

"Yes. But I want it to be golden all around." Sometimes, having it a little toasted looked nice. But this wasn't the case. Plus,

"The inside is not cooked."

"Huh?"

"Check it out yourself." Keith took a knife and stabbed inside. And the inside was raw.

Raw dough stuck to the knife.

"Young Master, what if we turn up the heat?" May questioned. Keith had the dial at medium heat.

Keith shook his head, "That won't work. The top will be burnt even more." Having the temperatures higher would cook it. But the outside would cook even more.

"..." Michael's victorious expression turned to defeat. But it was nothing compared to Mir and Fira! They were dead!

Keith ignored them and turned to Orin, "Orin, I want to set it at the highest temperature and longest time."

Orin understood, "We should stress test it."

Keith turned the heat and timer to the maximum settings. He wanted to see if nothing would happen.

And the oven started to move. But when it did that,

"!" Orin's eyes turned wide. Michael screamed,

"Get down!" Michael quickly chucked a table in front of them. Keith grabbed May and pulled her behind the table.

"Ho!" Aria made her move and created an ice wall. The next second,

"Boom!" An explosion followed afterward! Scraps of metal went flying everywhere!

The group looked up. And what they saw was a blazing oven.

"Let me put it out." Keith quickly fired water at it, putting the fire out.

"It was a dud," Keith sighed.

"Why did it explode like that?!" Michael was shocked. May had no words.

Keith and Orin were the least shocked about this. The thing exploded and sent everything flying across the room! Yet, the two looked at the scraps around, undisturbed.

They were too calm about this.

"It probably had something to do with the circuit," Orin stated.

"Hmm?" Circuit?

"To use the heating crystals, I needed to add mana wires around the top. That way, mana can flow into the heating crystals." Orin took out the wires he used for it.

"It probably couldn't handle the amount of mana. That's why it exploded." Orin stated.
