Well, so far, so good with the switch to Non-Patreon Texturelabs :)

Just as a reminder, repeat billing here has been turned off, so you shouldn't see any charges from Patreon. I'll wait until the end of this month to actually unpublished the Patreon page - in case there's any funny business with Patreon, I want to be able to access my dashboard here!

I'm excited for the future and am already looking forward to 2024. My goal is to keep Texturelabs thriving with new free textures and tutorials as the core of the project. Extra emphasis on the tutorials. I'd love to hear what you're interested in learning more about - leave me any ideas in the comments! Here are some things I have in the mix -

Photoshop:

  • Blend If… If What!!??
  • Grungy Grain Shading
  • T Shirt Mockups
  • Expert Compositing Lens and Light Flares
  • Fake News! Vintage Newspaper Effects
  • Hyper-Real Tombstones (maybe for Halloween)

After Effects:

  • Brady's Organic Vintage Film Grain Recipe
  • How to Loop the Particle World Effect
  • Retro Optical Printer -  Film Title Color Fades
  • Sparkle Light Board Text FX (Magic Mike!)
  • The 80's VCR in After Effects

I remain incredibly grateful to you for being part of the Patreon! I want to keep in touch and will continue to send out updates - they'll just be from the Texturelabs email instead. And please keep me posted on anything new and exciting with your work - via email or I'll plan on being a bit more active on Instagram.

texturelabsorg@gmail.com and @texturelabs

Alrighty, that's it for now. Hope you're heaving a great month!

Cheers,

Brady

I saw a couple of suggestions for tutorials from other folks here that I would love to see - the techie side of PS, and using Illustrator with PS - for example. And I love anything Blend If. I can't wait to see what you come up with! P.S. I just heard Rikard Rodin (Nucly Academy) give you and Texture Labs a shout out. He called you a master of blend modes. Damn straight! Anyway, he recommended your site and the youtube channel. The word is getting out!

As an AE person, I think that all your ideas up there are great. The two that particularly stand out to me are the looping Particle World and the 80's VCR. I do a fair amount of VCR effects, and I find that a lot of the resources our there don't quite work for me. I feel like your take on it would be amazing. That being said, all your AE ideas are totally fascinating to me and I'd love to see any of them.
