Hey everyone,

Hope you’re looking forward to the summer! Here’s the latest from the lab:

Very soon: Next-Level Displacement Maps - AE Tutorial!

I was aiming to have this tutorial wrapped up for this update, but I caught a bug this month though that knocked out my voice and threw off my whole flow! I’m just about clear now and I think I can get this one recorded and cut next week - keep an eye out...

ONE HUNDRED AND ONE NEW TEXTURES!

It turned out to be a great reason to really focus on the textures this month - I don’t think I’ve ever hit 100 in a month before. I think there are some gems in here - hope you find ‘em beneficial. You can find everything in the NEWEST section on the site.

I finally carved out some time to check out this dusty old air museum that I’d driven past a handful of times and found some fantastic, perfectly weathered metal.

Plus, a handful of new brush strokes that are the higher resolution than any of the existing brush elements. Big enough to use as larger-scale or background elements:

A few more test cases and favorites:

Aside from the new textures, it’s been a LOT of hours on website updates this month. Getting ever-closer...

As always, a huge thank you for your Texturelabs support. Back at you soon with this new tutorial and more.

Cheers!

Brady

These textures are amazing! Awesome job. I just resubbed for a year (I know you'll move things elsewhere) but I'm sure you will find a way to make that worth it. Keep up the great work.

Love using ink paint textures to create custom swirls on vinyl record mockups. Would love to see some more variants of those in the future! This is an older mockup I did, but definitely shows how much you can elevate a mockup with the swirls. https://dribbble.com/shots/14471171-Dealer-Vinyl-Record-Concept

Crazy, that mockup looks SO good! I'm a huge fan or marbled or splatter vinyl - always down to pay a few extra bucks if it's pressed like that. Ok for sure, I';d love to make more of those swirled inks. They're fun to do. I'm just gonna need some gloves - the ink is basically nail polish, and I ended up having to wash my hands in paint thinner last time around, ha
