Hey everyone,

Hope you’ve had a great month. A huge thank you and welcome to the new Patreon members this month… glad to have you on board! All is well here. I’m slowly getting my studio space dialed in after the move earlier in the summer. I'm looking forward to shooting some behind-the-scenes, I’ve just got to make the time to pick up some paint and get this Electric Kiwi Green color off the walls. I can’t let that go on the permanent record.

The latest this month:

BURN TRANSITION in AFTER EFFECTS

The first After Effects tutorial for the channel. After Effects always seemed like a beast to try to teach! I really enjoyed creating this one though. I’m certainly looking forward to visiting some more techniques in AE.

SPRAY PAINT STENCIL v2.0

It was such a relief to release this video! Ever since PS made a subtle change to the Lens Blur Effect, it’s been playing in the back of my mind, “gotta update that video, gotta update that video, gotta update….”

NEW TEXTURES

New paint drips! Lots of em! Plus some various textures in other sections. A few random selects:

Create anything awesome this month? Send it my way or tag me...

Some cool stuff planned for this month, stay tuned!

Cheers,

Brady

Hey Saif, Sure - I reattached the file above, hopefully that should work. If not, you can also find it here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/18Y2_trTaVhKT4B1AXluspodhrQ5iq08G/view?usp=drive_link Let me know if you have any problems with it!

Same, I have some difficulties to find the burn effect files... :(

Hey Anthony, sorry about that, might be the Patreon lag-time issue I've been trying to deal with. Should be working quickly, but in the meantime, I attached the project file to the bottom of this post and you can also find it here: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1cJigz6C-v3H_9wxdY6gR9imD-P9JE2Ml?usp=sharing That project is called Texturelabs_BurnoutProject.zip Apologies again and hope that helps!

Hi Anthony, I love this burn effect for After Effects. I don't suppose you've got any good suggestions on how to bring this in to Photoshop as a layer (ie keeping the background transparent). I've just been screenshotting AE and then bringing into PS, but that leaves me with white where I'd like transparency.

Nice! Were you able to get the AE project set up with no background? (There's a version of that composition in the template project file) If so, exporting with no background is totally do-able. With that Comp open, go to "Composition>Save Frame As File..." In the Render Queue, click on the Output Module settings. Change the format to "Photoshop Sequence", and the color to "Straight (Unmatted)" Hit Render, then open the resulting file in Photoshop (it'll look super weird) In Photoshop, open the Channels Panel, then Ctrl click (Cmd click on Mac) on the thumbnail of the alpha channel to make a selection. Click the Create Mask button in the layers panel.... should be all set! Hope that helps - let me know if any issues pop up! Cheers, Brady
