I need to push the release of the remaining Arby 'n' the Chief story episodes a bit. Sorry to do this. I have to recast the roles of Claire and Kylie.

It's not what I wanted. I'm very saddened by the situation, but I'm left no choice. I sent the actress the sides a month and a half ago and haven't heard anything back after multiple check-ins. I've waited well past the deadline for a response of some kind and can't afford to wait longer. I don't want to speculate on the reasons why as I simply don't know.

The already existing auditions for characters in the remaining season eight episodes remain open and the submissions page on my website has now been updated to include sample sides for the characters Claire and Kylie. I don't want to share the full sides publicly as they contain significant spoilers. Upon selection of a new female actress or two based on submitted recordings of readings of the sample sides, I'll then send the full sides to that person or two.

Unlike the others, the roles of Claire and Kylie are paid roles. This is due to the volume of dialogue belonging to those characters required by me, as well as the characters' integral and recurring nature in the story. If I cast separate actresses for Claire and Kylie, they will receive $60 CAN each upon completion of all their dialogue. If I cast one actress for both roles, that person will receive $120 CAN. The fee is based on a rate of $30 per hour for an assumed two hours of reading and recording work per character. Money will be sent via Paypal to a desired email address upon delivery and my review of all the dialogue, which will take some time.

Originally one actress performed for both characters by tweaking her voice between one and the other. Depending on the auditions, I may choose one actress to voice both characters or cast two separately. Female auditioners are welcome and encouraged to read for both characters.

Ideally whoever auditions is familiar with the show and characters.

Sounding like the original actress is preferred and ideal but not the priority, I'm more interested in the actress(es) and delivery embodying the original characters regarding temperament and dialect.

The subject matter of the material is quite dark and heavy and some of the language explicit, which may have been the issue regarding the original actress, again, I don't know. Whatever the case, I must ask potential female auditioners to be adults over eighteen and to keep an open mind regarding the material, hopefully trusting that, in consideration of my past work, the darkness is purposeful and I'm ultimately going somewhere meaningful with it all.

I don't wish for the original actress to receive any negative attention for her departure, she was under no contractual obligation to continue working with me and reserves the right to choose what projects she's a part of or not for whatever reason. I'll always be grateful to her for the work she's done for me.

I'm looking forward to hearing the auditions. Thank you for reading, for your patience with production, and auditioning if you're interested. Please read the submissions page on my website carefully before doing so. The page is here:
