RTX 3080 (installing this weekend) (Patreon)

Thanks everyone for the recommendations and support! Wound up getting a new 3080 since prices just so happened to go down, along with a new AMD Ryzen 5800x processor to compensate for it. Technically have the parts installed now, but didn’t realize I’d need another 8-pin PCI power cable for the graphics card. Have one in the mail, so likely will get to putting those in on Friday.

So this whole debacle means a few things moving forward:

Cons

• Releases will definitely be delayed for the next month since we had to spend a good chunk of our budget on these parts.
• Appointments made with different models and VA’s have been postponed until we can raise the funds to afford them again.

Pros

• Have the option to attempt crazier edits and effects while user broader aspects of programs like Blender and Davinci Resolve’s Fusion Editor
• Better computer = Better Videos

Overall, I’m hype to see what improvements to the workflow come about through all of this! Gotta say, it’s been an interesting experience switching to a PC after using Mac all my life, but having a hands-on relationship with my rig has become an equally malign and rewarding experience : )
