Mine’s not so much a routine as a state of mind. Anymore I see my instrument more as a solace and escape from the contentions of the world. While I don’t think things are nearly as bad as we’re led to believe, you know what’s not political? My harp. You know who doesn’t give a crap about celebrity/royal gossip? My harp. You know who will never make me feel like I’m lacking because of a personal conviction? You catch on quick. Sure, there are times I wanna chuck my metronome across the room. But I almost always feel better after practicing. So long as I keep that in mind, practicing is a joy rather than a chore.

I hate practicing. I've been getting by through the years by learning microscopically harder and harder songs. But that's probably hindering more than helping.
