Who is greater....a RIFF LORD or a LEAD LORD?

I did a video recently on Yngwie Malmsteen harshly criticizing Kirk Hammett of Metallica. The Swede for speed told guitar world magazine that Kirk has a bad sense of pitch and note choice.

Is this valid....or do you think Yngwie is "JELLY" of Metallica's success?

We know Yngwie hates donuts 🍩 ....even the JELLY kind....but is it possible he's envious of Kirk's ability to write hit riffs like ENTER SANDMAN?

Yngwie's legacy in realm of technical evolution cannot be overstated. His influence can be heard in nearly every modern metal lead guitarist. Harmonic minor scales, diminished arpeggios, Bach's Cadential 6/4 chord cadences

On the other hand Kirk's brilliance comes from accessible songwriting and pushing the genre of metal forward.

Make your choice below....who do you identify with more?

Your video was great thanks for it. Idk which is better but you already established that riffs are more popular. How about a course on playing with passion and or deep emotions

I like some Metallica songs, but I'm more of a European metal fan. Sad, but true. Whatever the playing, it should follow the underlying harmony and be creative. Something sadly lacking in some players skill sets.
