The circle of 5ths is easily one of the most powerful concepts in music theory

It tells you what notes are in each key. Essential for LEAD LORDS and composers

THIS KNOWLEDGE WILL TURN YOU INTO A GUITAR GOD muhaha

It's called the circle of 5ths because there's an interval of a 5th in between each key. Starting at 12 o'clock on the circle with the key of C, move clockwise and you'll reach the key of G. C-D-E-F-G....5 notes or a perfect 5th

Going back to 12 o'clock on the circle (C), move counterclockwise and you'll arrive at the key of F. The keys move in 4ths in the counterclockwise direction. C-D-E-F (4th).

There's two things you MUST KNOW for each key on the wheel

1. Number of sharps or flats

2. The relative minor key
