Cliff Burton of Metallica is considered by many to be the greatest BASS player in the metal genre. Unfortunately, Cliff passed away in a bus accident while on tour with Metallica in 1986. Cliff and Dave Mustaine of Megadeth were close friends, so when Dave heard the news of Cliff's passing he had an emotional meltdown. He went to downtown LA and purchased heroin to medicate his pain. It was during this time that he wrote "In My Darkest Hour." A track inspired by the accident. This track is a brilliant piece of music that utilizes guitar orchestration and music theory.
