In this Neoclassical shred etude you'll learn compositional devices, guitar techniques and primary chord progressions of the neoclassical sound. Hybrid picking, sweep picking, finger tapping. We're in the key of B harmonic minor. The primary chords in B harmonic minor are Bm-Em and F#. The secret to making music, as opposed to random shred wankery, is to outline pleasing harmonic movements.
The ending tapping sequence utilizes contrary motion, or two voices moving in opposite directions. This is one of the those compositional devices that just always seems to work. Reminds me of the flowing, cascading notes found in Bach's music. A true compositional master.
