In this post you'll learn how to read the notes on the musical staff. No doubt part of guitar god Randy Rhoads unique sound came from his classical guitar reading exercises. In particular, he used Leo Brower's etude no. 6. Which you can hear in "Diary Of A Madman." 

EGBDF are the notes on the lines of the staff and FACE are the notes on the spaces (see attached pdf). Try out the Giuliani arpeggio exercises attached below once you get some basic reading chops under your belt. 

I've also included an ear training exercise below. Guess whether each chord is major or minor in the mp3 file. In other words, does it sound happy or sad? Then check your answers and see how you did.
