As such, neoclassicism was a reaction against the unrestrained emotionalism and perceived formlessness of late Romanticism, as well as a "call to order" after the experimental ferment of the first two decades of the twentieth century. The neoclassical impulse found its expression in such features as the use of pared-down performing forces, an emphasis on rhythm and on contrapuntal texture, an updated or expanded tonal harmony, and a concentration on absolute music as opposed to Romantic program music. Music Theory: In this Neo Classical Metal Guitar Licks lesson you'll hear the following harmonic devices: 1. i-iv-V chords (Em-Am-B) 2. V/V chord or F#7 (Secondary Dominant) 3. bII chord or Neopolitan (Fmaj7) Major chord a half step up from the root All chords outside the key (F#7,Fmaj7) are voiced over an E pedal tone. This provides context and a cohesive sound. Technique: Use alternate picking or down and up strokes to execute this neo classical arpeggio sequence. A great way to bolster your picking chops and metal arpeggio knowledge. 🔴SOCIAL MEDIA: Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/shredmasterscott/ Snapchat: Shredmaster Scott Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/ShredMasterScottsGuitarLessons/ 🔴SHRED ZONE THEME DOWNLOAD: https://itunes.apple.com/us/album/i-dont-want-to-be-human-single/id1175161744 🔴FOR GUITAR LESSONS ON SKYPE AND IN PERSON: shredmasterscott@gmail.com Gear: Final Cut Pro Logic Pro X i-phone X, Ibanez Universe 7 string, Fractal Audio Axe Fx II, Matrix GT1000 Power Amp.
