Can music theory actually help you write better songs, or does it limit your creative potential? My issue was, I could never figure out how to play the sounds in my head on guitar. It was like there was some kind of barrier in the way. I’d just string random riffs together that didn’t really sound like a song. This was so frustrating, I eventually signed up for music school. Overtime I realized the problem I had was just lack of knowledge

⚡️#1 COMPOSING CHEAT CODE

In this video I’m going to show you how I use a simple trick to write songs with music theory. It's a basic formula anyone can copy to get instant results. I even used this method in the studio without having a premeditated plan. So, if you're feeling stuck, or unsure where to start, try this formula:

 "Music = drone + chords"

I promise this is an absolute game changer. If you're not feeling inspired, this will ignite your creativity guaranteed. It's kinda like magic to be honest. Watch the video to see how I record a song in real time using this basic idea!

I can say that for decades my composition required waiting for lightning to strike. I have one song that took me about 12 years to write…I sh*t you not. Learning music theory has not only considerably shortened the process, it’s also made the music I write much more interesting.

Dude, that's crazy! 12 years! Same for me. I don't know why, I just never used to practice composing. I totally agree about your theory point. I'd never have thought to use certain sounds without the help of compositional techniques!

I've been writing some killer riffs since becoming a patreon sub with Dr. Shred. I love the Am to BbM chord progression + inversions. Killer sound!

I heard your riffs the other day Chris! Great flow you had going. Thinking about chord progressions in your riffs brings out creativity. Your progress is motivating me!
