Hey, guys!

So, I was planning to make the art of my new stories in 3D DAZ instead of Poser Pro because the newest 3d models being made (and clothes, acessories, hair, etc) are not compressible with Poser, and I hoped this way I'd be able to make prettier renders.

The problem is that my computer, despite some recent upgrades, wasn't powerful enough to do renders in Daz in a reasonable amount of time. So (thanks to your guys support) I bought a new computer! I was very happy, but then something terrible happened. :-(

Everything was working great, but when I tried plugging my old HD with all my files on my new computer, the computer just went crazy... All USB ports stopped working, and the PC started making a very ugly noise.

Then I removed the HD but the problem persisted. Since I've already opened the computer case, I doubt the store will accept to change the product, and I have spent the last two days trying to solve the problem without success. :-(

I'll take the computer to a tech support this week, and I'm hoping that nothing serious has happened since it was very expensive. For now, I'm using with my old computer again. Fortunately, my HD still works perfectly fine on this computer.

I still don't understand what's going on... Are any of you guys good with computers? How can a HD cause such a problem?

I've never had problems with my HD. I'm sorry that I couldn't be any help to you. All I can do is hoping that everything will be solved very very soon. Good luck :-)

I assume you are not swapping out the primary hard drive, but adding your old hard drive as a secondary HD for the files. If your primary HD was partitioned into two, some of the drivers for you system may be on the second partion, and installing the secondary drive may cause the system to look for drivers on your old drive which aren't there.

Let me know whether or not I am correct with my assumptions, and I can help

Hey, River! Yes, yes I was trying to add the new HD as a second one. However, the primary HD wasn't partitioned. I'm afraid the new HD has short-circuited the motherboard somehow since all the USB ports have stopped working.

Did you Plug-In the SATA-Cable on the Motherboard yourself? could it be that you did not static-discharge yourself? Then you eventually crash your USB-Ports on the Motherboard by an static-charge.

That's my theory now... :-( Unfortunately I just learned of this possibility after the problem had already happened. I didn't know I had to static-discharge myself. Anyway, I sent the computer to the technical assistance.
