I recently come up with a new story concept that I wanted to share with you guys, called The Federation:

The Federation (Concept)

What happens when bodybuilding becomes the new global superpower, where the strength of a nation is perceived through that of its chosen champion? These hypothetical questions are posed and the focal point in The Federation, a new conceptual series.

Background: Sometime in a possible near-future, after years of lobbying, the Global Bodybuilding Federation, or GBF for short, succeeds in convincing the international courts to make the sport of bodybuilding law for those aged sixteen and older. This inevitably led to a wave of controversy, but swiftly died down over time through being drowned out by both an onslaught of public opinion and the Federation’s deep pockets.

As this new status quo rose to prominence in the later years, the GBF took advantage by developing what would later become known as the GBF Championships, a yearly bodybuilding contest held between the various global nations, where the strength of the nation in question was determined by the strength of its chosen champion. How this strength and size is gained is determined by the champion themself — no-holds-barred!

The “champions” are determined by a lottery system designed by the GBF, typically aged between sixteen and twenty-five and in groups of four per nation. It’s considered an honor to represent one’s country in the GBF Championships, but they are required by law to take part if chosen.
