NaNoWriMo Day 30 (Patreon)

     Night crawls into the room as Rune drifts off to sleep. She finds herself in an open field with a blazing night sky dotted with stars, colors running back and forth above. She turns and sees an intimidating creature of the night. Serpentine in its shape, it somehow looks both terrifying and... Soothing. The creature sees her and turns to face her, and their expression softens.

    “There you are.” Their voice is slow and deliberating, and they take their time to form their sentences.

    “Someone was… Blocking me before.” Rune shifts uncomfortably. The creature approaches her slowly.

    They extend one of their massive, claw-like hands to her. “We may not have time. I have a gift for you.” They lightly tap her on the head, and she cries out in wordless, fiery pain as everything goes dark.

And that's the last entry for NaNoWriMo this year! I got about 36,000 words into the script, and I'm almost to Chapter 4 now as far as page-by-page scripting goes, though I do have up to Chapter 10 completed with overarching detailed scripting. All of the excerpts I've posted don't go beyond Chapter 2 (don't wanna let loose those major spoilers), but I hope you all enjoyed! Now I just have to get back to working on Inktober posts.
