“Once, long, long ago, the Creator birthed three dragons. One of these dragons tamed the ebbing flow of time. Under her rule, time began to flow throughout the land. The world began to turn, and the inhabitants of the world could age and grow. However, many were jealous of her power, and yearned to control it. So, she split her soul into five pieces and hid them throughout our world. These fragments are called Time Gears. She put these under the care of her most trusted retainers. One to the exuberant, one to the tenacious, one to the unknown, one to the ancestor, and one left without.”

“It is said that if a Time Gear is removed from its region, time in its former home will slow to a stop, and possibly spread across the land.”
