Hey all, I have a tasty little poll for you! As I'm getting Chapter 10 of OBT underway, I've been considering the current page release system for early access pages between tiers, and wanted to get your opinions since it impacts rewards for you all.

With the current system, Normal Rank through Bronze Rank ($5-$10) get access to pages 5 weeks ahead of schedule. If I have more pages in my buffer than that, they're uploaded for Silver Rank and higher ($15+), and those folks have access to pages as they're completed. This part will remain unchanged.

However, my current method for releasing pages for the Normal Rank+ tiers is that when a page cluster gets into that 5 week buffer, I edit the original Silver Rank+ upload and send out an "edit" notification so everyone knows that page cluster is available to read for lower tiers. This preserves the original comments left by Silver Rank+ patrons, but it requires that I manually edit the release.

The issue with this current system is that I'm prone to human error- sometimes I miscalculate the lower tier release dates, or edit the wrong cluster entirely, or most commonly, I just forget to edit the tier accessibility on the date it's supposed to release. I already do most other rewards in sporadic batch format, and I'd like for at least one reward to have a reliable upload schedule.

So I'm considering a new format, where I schedule different uploads for different tiers. For patrons, this would look very similar to the current system on your end. On my end, I'd have duplicate posts for the division of tiers. One post for the 5 week buffer, and one post for beyond that. With this method, I can schedule Normal Rank+ uploads ahead of time, so even if I'm away from my computer, the post will upload reliably. There is one main drawback with this method though- because they'd be in separate posts, any comments left by Silver Rank+ patrons will not be visible to Normal Rank+ patrons, and vice versa. This also applies to your own accounts- if you upgrade to Silver Rank+, or downgrade to Normal Rank+, you won't be able to see comments you left on your previous tier's version of the post. For some this might seem like a worthwhile tradeoff, but I wanted to feel things out before going ahead with implementing a new system.

So now with that out of the way, how would you all prefer to receive early page access rewards? It'll be a while before I build up a big enough buffer to apply the results of this poll, so I've gone and set the end date to the end of the month.

I personally dont like the multiple post solution. makes browsing your patreon a nightmare for new users when you get the same thing 3+ times But: i am also not affected by delays because of my rank. but i would be ok with it in favor of a non cluttered patreon timeline

AH my wording was perhaps a bit unclear on that end, but patrons would only see one set of posts at a time (unless someone managed to be subscribed to multiple tiers at once, but I don't think Patreon lets you do that hehe)! I'd be the only one in this scenario seeing double posts.

I'm fine with whatever, I think you should go for what you think will be the best option.
