Dave, congrats on the news about Sundance! Will look forward to your reports from there. And thanks for the excellent job interview tips! A couple side notes: I can provide a bit of confirmation that John L. can be a real jerk. Anecdote: my partner has worked for years in higher ed at several well known colleges and universities. Quite some time ago, John. L. visited one of those institutions to receive an award and spend the day visiting around the campus, and my partner, as part of his job, had to escort John L. and his wife throughout the day. (And she, by the way, was extremely friendly, funny, and gracious.) John L. was stand-offish to the point of rudeness; at a luncheon that was scheduled with students, he chose to dine alone in a separate area...but within view of the students, mind you, who had expected to dine and banter with him. His whole vibe that day was that he was only there to get handed the award, and any other activities on the schedule were beneath him. Have I mentioned how much I like it when, in your conversations with David Cho, you address him as "David Cho"? I assume that this is a carryover routine from your other podcasts when you're interacting with guests or other podcasters who maybe aren't as well known as you are. But I have this amusing scenario in my mind that you ALWAYS call David Cho "David Cho," even offline; I envision the two of you in a restaurant, and you saying something like: "That's an interesting point, David Cho. Would you pass the salt and pepper, please?" Thanks as always, Dave. (And also: thanks, David Cho.)
