Hey Patrons,

It's been awhile since our last live event. I was really starting to get into a groove with Twitter Spaces Office Hours but with the latest changes to Twitter's ownership, I don't feel good using that platform anymore.

Instead, I want to try something different: Let's do a live hangout tomorrow night at 7:30 PM Pacific on YouTube! I've invited my friend and colleague Dan Gvozden from the Amazing Spider-Talk podcast to join me for the hang. We'll take questions from the audience and Patrons will be able to "call in" and join the broadcast.

TO (PASSIVELY) WATCH THE LIVE BROADCAST: Simply click the link above or go here at 7:30PM Pacific on Friday night (12/9)! You'll be able to tune in and interact with us via chat if you'd like.

TO CALL IN TO THE LIVE BROADCAST AND ASK A QUESTION: Use this link, which is specifically for Patrons/paid members only: https://riverside.fm/studio/129-patron-hangout

Notes on how this all works:

  • I anticipate the broadcast will last for 1 hour.
  • The Riverside link above will bring you into the "audience" for the broadcast. After that, you must initiate a "call-in", at which point I'll be able to bring you onto the broadcast.
  • Once you're on the broadcast, you should assume your voice/image will be broadcast and recorded.
  • Don't watch the YouTube broadcast AND use the Riverside dial-in at the same time! It'll get confusing.
  • I can add a maximum of 6 guests to the broadcast at a time, so we'll rotate people in and out as the evening continues.

That's it! Hope to see y'all there. And if you can't make it and have a question, feel free to leave it below and we'll discuss.

Thanks, as always, for your support.

No chat available in the non-Riverside watch. Dan’s audio kept cutting whole words out that made it tough to listen too. I wanted to leave space for the people to call in; but not having the chat on YouTube kinda sucked for me.

Moonbeam: This is odd - the YouTube Livestream should've had a chat available. Did you use the YouTube app?

This was a fun time! I hope you can get Karen on Culturally Relevant or the Decoding Everything platform to talk about her Bong Joon Ho book 🤞🏼
