I watched Disney's Mulan (2020) last night and got together with my wife @joyofnapping to record a few thoughts on it.

This review is now available as a podcast download on Culturally Relevant.

ALSO: This is my first video to feature Patreon credits for those who are contributing $20+. I hope everyone in those tiers is happy with how the credits look (please let me know if not!). Thanks again for your support.

Not of Asian descent here, but when I watched the movie on Friday I also found the spoken English quite weird, although, like you guys, completely understand why they had to do it that way. Overall, I and a friend split the cost and had a hugely entertaining time with it. Do not regret it at all, and would gladly fork over $30 to Disney for future releases done in this manner, particularly for any MCU content. Also, Dave, and no big deal, but my name in the credits is misspelled :)

Not sure if its fair to compare Yifei Liu to the great Michele Yeoh. This is one of those movies that you just need to take off your critic hats and have some fun! Do you know how rare and precious it is to see 4 legends of different era: Cheng Pei Pei, Gong Li, Jet Li and Donnie Yen in the same movie and kicking ass?
