Sorry for the long stretch of silence, but I've had my head down polishing a lot of the roughest edges off of Just a Bite and adding new features. Barring a few tweaks it's basically content complete, as I've used the experience to really jump-start my Unity development again and force myself to solve problems on a smaller scale. I'll have a big text blob soon about what the next steps are, and hopefully you'll stick around for those if you like what I do!

I summarize it in the included Readme, but the number of updates is actually deceptively big. For one thing, the game now saves and loads your best times, that's plural times, because there's two new difficult modes. Well how do you erase those times if you want to start over? You use the new UI menu (which was a whole adventure in itself to get it working properly in VR), which also has other settings like invincibility cheats, letting you change your scale on the fly, toggling the new fog during Nighttime or Kobold's talking, or just more easily switching between Daytime and Nighttime.

I really want to hear about bugs and issues you encounter with this, or any small improvement ideas you might have. I primarily tested this with an Oculus Quest 2 over Air Link wireless, and have not had the opportunity to try this again recently with my HTC Vive. I also don't own a Valve Index, so I'm currently unable to test with that. If you run into anything game-breaking using that hardware, let me know via here, Discord, or Twitter.

Here's a quick list of the known stuff:

  • View partially clips through floor at very small player scales. Usually only obvious during Daytime.
  • Using the Menu to Change Scales or the Emergency Reset Button during Nighttime may potentially stick you above or below the world.
  • Climbing up high may pop you above the ceiling. In some cases this can separate your view from your "body" which will actually be back in the apartment and still controllable.
  • Kobold walks a little above the ground during Nighttime.
  • Radial Menu will sometimes read the position of the other hand (usually the right) as the intended input if both cursors are on the menu, even if the correct button is shown as highlighted.
  • Kobold will sometimes walk over objects they probably shouldn't, like parts of the tree or the edges of the couch or bed.
  • The saddle can be tricky to remove, but it is possible.
  • The beans are overcooked.

Whew, it's been a long road to get here. I really hope you enjoy the updates, and look forward to the next steps for Cuddle Kobold! ...Oh wait, the download link!

I'm excited for more to be added. I wonder if there's going to be any true vore here, exploring your buddy's gut or somethin

The truth is I didn't mean for this to come across too strongly as vore when I first made it, and while I've leaned into it a bit for this mini-game it's not going to be the focus of the full thing. There can still be vore-related interactions I could include, especially with the obvious showing of interest I've seen, but it's not specifically a vore-themed game. I hope that's not too much of a letdown.
