FEEDBACK: Thoughts?

1. Were the unexpected 'proposals' touching?

2. How do you feel about some of the budding friendships? (Like between Lyla and Val.)

First time could have been coincidence because he was with Eliza but these last two are because he became half changeling, as far as dynamics go, I have a feeling he’s going to have trouble, especially since we don’t know the exact whereabouts of the half Eldritch’s mother, she could have taken them over in the time it’s taken to clear out the horde outside.

You know, I'm glad that a mention of Lyla and Wren has been made. I've been kind of looking forward those two meeting. For that matter, a meeting of all the women. What a beast of a team, I can't wait! Good stuff!

My answers to the questions: Were the proposals touching? No. How do you feel about Lyla and Val as friends? As long as they are friends, I think that Val could be a great influence on Lyla. Personally, I hope they don't become lesbian lovers. That's just not my thing, and we already have a couple of those. Constructive criticism: If you want the proposals to be touching, spend more time (words) on developing the relationship to make it believable. The only instantly believable marriage proposal would be with the elven queen. They were in love with each other and apparently still are. Only political things are of concern with the marriage. After that, the most believable proposal would be to Wren. She has demonstrated her love and dedication to him, and he finds her attractive. After all, she is a 'clone' of the Elven girl he fell in love with. In comparison, let's consider the three that he proposed to in this chapter. The Oni was his girlfriend (with benefits), but I had not seen any great deepening of the relationship. We are also told that Oni are notorious for casual sex. The marriage proposal seemed to come without a backdrop story of developing commitment to things more than friend-with-benefits. Then there is the cow, Val. She is actually my kind of woman in that she has demonstrated her extreme dedication to Alister, has a very kind and caring soul, and is willing to defend her family. That's so cool. However, his promise to marry her was made when he thought she never would achieve what he asked. It's obvious that he doesn't find her attractive as he fucks everything monster, human, non-human, and in-between (he was even considering fucking Lyla in this very chapter) - but he has not fucked Val. This is true to life in that sometimes a person loves someone who doesn't love them back. Then Lyla??? He spent his time hating her not so far back, and her reactions seem very immature. Why would he want to marry her? There were no words to suggest that they had such a deep and meaningful relationship as to result in a marriage proposal. All in all, I'd say dear Allie is more like a horn dog fucking women as they come and not spending enough time with any particular one to have a deep and significant relationship. Even this chapter portrayed Alister as kind of 'let me propose and hurry on to my personal business, separating from these girls I love once again'. If he wasn't going to marry based on heart-felt emotions, I would think that marrying the human princess/queen-to-be would also be an expedient choice. If you want these proposals to be touching, the relationships need to be believable. We need to see a relationship that is deeper than casual sex.
