NOTE: This chapter...

Ends on a cliffhanger. And I'm honestly kind of sorry this time, but it is SO WORTH IT.

REGARDING COMBAT HEALER: The next chapter of CH is actually very important and I don't want to mess it up, so I'm giving myself more time to write the chapter.

FEEDBACK:

(My reaction when I wrote this, perhaps yours too?)

Yeah, so that happened. Thoughts?

Any idea on how he might resolve this situation?

ALSO, PLEASE LEAVE A POSITIVE RATING on the game

(if you've tried it out, which is important, since Google will remove your review if you rate prior to playing the game).

But this is literally the most important thing you could possible rate for me.

And as I'm sure you know, 'Star rating systems' are broken.

A 4-star means it was 'just OK,' but you won't be playing the game again (and likewise, games with an average of 4.0 are viewed as 'just OK' but possibly not worth your time to even try it out).

That's just how it's treated on Amazon and Google Play, unfortunately. They treat a 3-star as a bad rating, and a 4-star as a 'won't read the next book, or won't play again, but it was OK.'

A 5-star doesn't mean it's the best thing since sliced bread, it just means you like the game and plan on sticking around for a long time (that's 'pragmatically' and 'functionally' how Google treats the rating).

That being said, feel free to rate however you feel best. I'd rather have your rating than not!

And thanks so much for all your support!

Easy read 75

I like the story but your timeline on getting new stories is lacking and seems to be getting shorter with shorter reads per story. Slow. For me getting stories out in the timeframe that you do can lead to losing readers. Again love the story but your time between stories is bad

I'm guessing you have no idea just how long each chapter takes to write. If I wrote even just an extra chapter per week, I would be spending anywhere from 40 to 60 hours writing each week, and I don't have that kind of time. Think about that in terms of a normal 40-hour per week job. This isn't the only thing I do, and the last few weeks, I've been nearly burning myself out trying to get these chapters written in time to post on Sunday. Also, I don't know who you are comparing me to, or even if you are, but my release schedule is absolutely not slow. It is very normal. I know one guy who releases just ONE chapter per month, and it's about 25,000 words usually (an average of about 6,000 words per week). I know another guy who releases almost every single day, but each 'chapter' is only 1,000 words (so it ends up being about 5,000 words per week). And I know yet another person who posts two chapters per week, and they are usually 2,000 to 2,500 words each. So my 'minimum' of 5,000 words per chapter is very normal and standard, and the reason why is because even just 5,000 words often takes 15 to 30 hours of plotting, writing, and editing. Very few writers have the 'extra time' to do more than that in a week. Any more than that, and they risk burnout, which is a very real thing for a 'creative' activity like this. I have been writing this story for 3 years now. 3 years! (since Aug of 2020) And the reason why it's really good? Because I didn't burn myself out and try to rush it beyond what I'm capable of. If you want something 'unique,' well that takes more time to write! Would you rather this story just be another 'formula,' like all 90% of the others out there? Also, this chapter is over 6,500 words (even though my minimum is 5,000 words), which means you got an 'extra' 1,500 words compared to my minimum, and the exact word count varies. Some chapters are up to 7,500 words, and others are right at 5,000. Some chapters have a lot of plot progress and some have very little. It varies. Furthermore, if I burn myself out, you won't be getting any chapters at all. And trying to write even this much does sometimes threaten to burn me out.

Couldn't even let him finish his test? 🤦‍♂️
