Hey My Darlings - so this is the way women from the Eastern part of Nigeria dress.

My mothers culture - THE IBOS

My outfit is a modern twist to it.

A fitted off - shoulder blouse - I made mine a corset stoned blouse

Two Wrappers tied one over the other - I made mine a skirt that looks like two fabrics tied over.

Traditional Igbo (female) attire & accessories. consists of George (Imported), Akwette (Hand woven in Igboland) or Hollandis (Imported) Ogodo (wrapper) 2. pieces if Married, 1 piece if unmarried.

The Coral beads I had were sooo heavy , my neck couldn't take it. So I wore a necklace instead.

My husband had one on - I was supposed to have three on my neck - so you can only imagine the weight of it. My sons had a smaller version on.

So beautiful! I'm afraid my only introduction to Igbo culture is reading Chinua Achebe's "Things Fall Apart" and "No Longer at Ease" in high school which might be rather limited.

Honest Question. Have you consider modeling as a side job?
