The story goes that Meredith Willson wrote the book “The Music Man” and nobody bought it. So he decided to make it into a musical because he had all these songs sitting around that he hadn’t used yet. However, he ended up having to write all new songs for the show, because none of the songs he had worked. Another piece of trivia that I read was that Willson made more money from the Beatles cover of “Till There Was You” than he did from the whole show.

Darn it, I keep repeating myself, thanks to John C. I love seeing Kemi watch musicals. 💛 Btw, I scanned through Hermione Gingold's film career, but couldn't find another movie that Kemi's seen here. She does bear some resemblance to Hermione Baddeley. the maid from Mary Poppins.
