Darlings,

This comment comes on the heels of Carrie. Carrie (2002) is clearly not a fans favorite but that is what the requester wanted and I have no regrets. I HAVE NO REGRETS. My heart broke for Carrie and her situation. The message of bullying and the after effects were clearly expressed.

I will not accept any rude comments headed in his direction. I will protect ALL my Patrons from things like that. If you are new and have your preferences so be it - but if you INSULT any Patron - you will be removed from this community. I HAVE WORKED HARD TO MAINATIN A RESPECTFUL ENVIRONMENT WHERE WE ARE ALL FREE TO DISAGREE BUT IN KINDNESS.

Patrons know that when you make a request - do NOT CARRY THE WEIGHT OF ANOTHER - request for whaT makes you happy.

CHOOSE the version that makes. YOU happy. Not the famous or most liked or critically acclaimed.

WHEN YOU BECOME A PLATINUM MEMBER - The relationship is between ME AND YOU. And I HAVE no regrets. I didn’t decide to do this to choose famous films alone, I do this do connect with YOU on the films YOU LIKE - that I have NOT watched.

YOU HAVE MY THANKS AND GENUINE REACTION REGARDLESS and I will protect you and our bubble.

Much Love,

Kemi.

If I may, I would just like a word of response for this. Sorry for the long post but just wanted to say my truth. I am the person responsible for making this request. It's been an interest of mine for months now the have Kemi watch Carrie. Stephen King is my favorite author and Carrie in particular is my second favorite novel of his (the first being Misery, which Kemi already watched earlier). I have deliberately reserved the month of October for Carrie just to get into the spirit of Halloween season. I perfectly understand where people are coming from regarding their passion for the 1976 original. The original is hands down the version that immediately comes to mind when one is reminded of "Carrie" and justifiably so as Sissy Spacek and John Travolta are both very iconic actors who effortlessly steal the show. I understand this version is adored and is viewed as the "one and only" Carrie film. I am an exception to this opinion. I will be frank here. I am not fond of the original 1976 film. I do realize that this is an extremely unpopular opinion. From my admittedly subjective perspective, I really do not believe that the 1976 version of the film does the "true story" of Carrie much justice. That is my overall passion. Which version of Carrie is most accurate from the novel? I know it's a bizarre line in the sand to draw, but as an aspiring author, source material has always been super important to me. I knew going in that it was going to be 2002 or 2013. Originally, I locked in 2013 as I felt that while it would be a minor disappointment to the community, it wouldn't be as bad should it be 2002 version. However, I've re-watched 2013 with the mindset that Kemi was going to watch it too and there was one scene in particular that made me reconsider. The car crash scene. Those who have seen this version would know exactly what I am referring to. I understood that Kemi is anxious about pain and gore and I did not want to subject her to this particular scene of violent cruelty. So 2002 it was. Again, I do understand why 1976 fans are extremely frustrated by this decision. I earnestly do. I understand that Carrie has a passionate fan base and I can definitely respect that. However, this is NOT Kemi's fault and it's not fair for her to receive pushback on this decision. All that she did was respect my request to watch a movie. Please don't blame her or be disappointed in her. This was a personal favorite decision of mine, and I admit that it was a selfish decision. If ya'll are still willing to trust me, I do promise that going forward, my next requests will be a lot more safer decisions.

Yeah but you are paying money on this platform! By all means you are allowed to be selfish in that way. Don’t let others determine your film requests. Kemi herself is the only one who can say no to a movie. I am happy that you feel the way you do about your choice of movie. Go ahead and pick a Rugrats movie, Hallmark movie, or even a boring documentary lol. It’s YOUR choice. Don’t feel bad!
