Thanks, Michael, for sharing this domino-effect of a movie. Kemi had plenty to think about. And thanks, Kemi, for the sex ed lesson.

First, the fish story. Much need laughter during that reaction. 😂😂 Always learning something new on your channel. Your uncle raises a very interesting thought. I have seen both sides. I’ve had a negative experience with a former friend hired at a previous job who knew my insecurities and used them to prey on me at work. After leaving that company and years later, I’ve hired friends but set up specific boundaries & expectations from the beginning and have had no issues. From this though, I’ve learned to become more confident in my abilities and focus less on the negativity around me (gossip, etc.). It’s all down to personal experience. I have friends who will not work with other friends or family because they feel they will be taken advantage of in certain situations. Now this family…I think because it’s a film, we are geared to feel bad for this family in a way that makes you overlook certain bad decisions. Their deception is played for comedic effect. Following their journey from all points allows us to have compassion. In real life, I would consider them criminals. Yes, like you said, feeling awful that the daughter was killed. But preventable situations accelerated by greed. Out of all the family members, I do feel bad for the mother losing her child BUT feel the most for the Ki Woo. I always think of the son leaving with his fake diploma saying it’s a placeholder for the real thing. He was so full of life at the idea that one day, he would be able to make his family proud doing the right things. He always had ambition and it seems without proper guidance, that ambition led to his downfall. Recognizing he made the choice to bring in his sister, it’s still heartbreaking knowing he most likely never achieved his dream at the end. And also, felt bad for the previous maid. Tortured her! She was a parasite as well but I do believe she cared for the family. And although harboring a fugitive, it was never obtrusive to her clients lifestyle. She seemed grateful, even in their bleak situation. Immediately offering money to protect her husband because she knew that’s how the people around her got what they wanted. The characters really showed their true colors in the final scenes. Every move was done out of survival for one’s self. The father abandoned his family during one of the hardest moments and that upset me almost as much as watching Jessica get stabbed. This movie is a range of emotions and sparks some interesting conversation. I’m glad you enjoyed it! Feel free to email me if you want to continue the discussion Kemi!

Sincerely, K.S.O.

Thank you so much Michael - I appreciate that you shared some part of your life and experience . Yes I agree with you - my compassion for the family didn't blind me to the reality that they were governed by greed. It was a mean thing to be deceptive but ALL of them preyed on the family and the father lost his cool when he got a taste of the rich family's pride streak.
