I'm a couple of weeks late to this full-length reaction but I just had to say what an awesome one it was, you really went off on the characters' actions and decisions. In my opinion, this film doesn't really have a hero. All of the characters have flaws and failings, some much more than others. Paris was very romantic and wanted to save Helen from her unhappy marriage, but he was also reckless and foolish. Helen clearly felt lonely with Menelaus, but she didn't seem to think about the broader consequences of running away with a Trojan prince. Hector was always noble and sensible, but too indulgent of his little brother - I think he could've nipped the whole situation in the bud by keeping Paris away from Helen before any adultery could've occurred. Achilles was a mighty warrior but didn't really use his power to do anything good - all he wanted was a glorious fight, and he disrespected Hector's corpse out of spite. Even the peaceful king Priam made wrong decisions which helped doom his nation. Maybe because of how sympathetic Hector was, I found myself completely on the Trojans' side and wanting the Greeks to lose - especially at the end where the Greeks were massacring defenceless Trojan civilians. Tough to root for the Greeks there! This was a great film with a lot to discuss and analyse. And Eric Bana has lovely dark eyes haha.
