I agree w Dorian here. There is something very moving about stage productions as opposed to stage productions turned to movies but I will say this. Tim Burton was perfect for the movie and Alan Rickman was perfect for his role. Everyone did wonderful in the film but Angela Lansbury is the quintessential Mrs. Lovetts to me lol. I say try both.

Ohh I also have to add that besides Interview w the Vampire, The Last Samurai is Cruise’s best film
