Here's the process for an older drawing. This one actually changed a good bit from what I sketched and what I ended up with...going back, even I find it kind of interesting seeing the changes I forgot I even made. 

1. rough sketch

2. lineart and line colorization

3. plot out colors 

4. base colors for background

5. base colors and shading

6. more shading and tones, highlights added

7. scrap the entire background because you're unsatisfied with it and just pick a solid color...? (;´･ω･)

8. more highlights and adding hair strands, complete
