hi guys,

by this time of year, i usually would be dropping teasers about Echotober festivities. this year's announcement is gonna be a little different. namely, there won't be a month-long Echotober for 2023. while i'm really proud of both Imperium seasons, it's been an enormous undertaking to make both of them, one which is both very draining on me and isolating to a large part of my audience, neither of which has ever felt great. i like making all kinds of content, including the darker stuff, but to make my channel basically unviewable for a full month to anyone who doesn't like that has always been tough, and on top of that, my life is the busiest it's ever been in the lifetime of the channel. the two Echotobers took so much work that i didn't even get to appreciate my favorite time of the year, because i spent the whole thing with my head buried in the work, and i don't want to lose that time again. Cataclysm was always intended to be more or less the end of the Imperium's story, deliberately left on a chaotic note because that was one of the hallmarks of the Imperium in general: it's bad, and it keeps getting worse. it's not to say I'll never return to that AU, it would be nice to dabble back in there, but if I do, it won't be in the form of another month long saga, i at least know that for sure.

all of that to say, for this year i'm instead bringing back an old standby from the ancient past of 2020. Halloweek. It'll be five videos, released from the 27th - 31st, which will include some spooky stuff, some lighthearted Halloween stuff, and will culminate in the Summit audio. i'm really excited for it, and i hope you guys will be too!

and for the lore-hungry among you, expect some updates to Project Meridian and the Balance between now and then as well
