We’ve possibly moved on but a part of me thinks Hush is Blake OR bestie is Doc even if the two are separate — still… The centered obsession with Doc feels like the only part of Blake that would survive or be left behind intentionally because it’s his “strength” — the memories and person could’ve been erased but leaving it still meant a part of Blake that is distinct from the Sovereigns. Hence the one connection, one maybe the sovereigns hoped wouldn’t happen. Plus, in this, Hush says “almost anyone” as a question, a realization that wasn’t supposed to be there — I would assume this is Doc. Doc is also “neither for nor against” in the same way Bestie was in the dark (if I remember correctly). Also, Hush’s emotional range and sense of purpose processing is very similar to Blake’s “being under water but Bestie is the oxygen tank” — So, it makes sense that Bestie/Doc knows how to speak to Hush and help Hush process (whether Blake or not). The burning pain inside of Hush might also be the only way that the Drove inside Hush’s seer core can communicate — after all, it can only hold a fraction, not the entire being of a sovereign. So, the internal pain/torture is kind of like a crop for horses, albeit inflict awful pain for action/(re)direction/punishing. I don’t think Hush quite cares if “everyone dies” — death is part of the plan — but there is something about “everyone” (aka Bestie/Doc) that makes him emotionally start to overflow. The one drive remaining from Blake, or as a pinpoint of Hush’s distinct humanity not as Blake at all, being the connection to “everyone” = Bestie/Doc — ALSO, that Blake cooks for Bestie regularly (well, breakfast at least) and one of the first things Hush learns to do is cook for Doc in some way. The parallels are there, I’m just not entirely sure I’m right. Maybe 35% As a smaller note, seeing as Blake was pulled away from listening to and hearing the “spell song” or else it’d take him, it makes sense Hush had to be formed in the silence between its notes, or else Blake’s form would be lost to the spell song. Who knows 😂😭
