In Dandong's embrace, where river meets sea, What secrets lie in its history? What tales do the port's whispers hold, Of trade, of culture, in stories untold? Is it the bridge that links two lands, Or the ships that dock on golden sands? Is it the lanterns that light the night, Or the ancient walls that stand upright? What makes Dandong special, we must inquire, Is it the people, the culture, the fire? In this city by the Yalu's grand flow, What is it that makes Dandong's heart glow?

I largely agree with your assessment of the Huawei phone, although I do think it took some pretty good skill for them to be able to build a 7nm chip using DUV. But from that guy's review that the phone runs hot, the fact that they can't do smaller devices does seem to really undercut their ability to make a state of the art phone. I think if China were smart it would put its money into becoming the dominant force in older generation chips, which still have a huge market. For the advanced process, I think they ought to give it up because there's no way they can match TSMC. I mean, even Intel is still a long way from catching up if they even are able to. One thing I wonder: If the camera is on all the time, I would think that would drain the battery like crazy. And the processor chip must run down the battery pretty fast too as hot as it runs. Maybe people's phones won't be as useful to the government for surveillance as it thinks because their batteries will be drained most of the time.
