I wasn’t fooled at all considering all the hints from last year that it will be OT7. We’ve witness Yang Hyunsuk trolling and flip flopping on us ever since 2006 like you said. I went through BIG BANG, WIN with WINNER, MIX & MATCH with IKON, and YG TREASURE with TREASURE. I’ve become immune to YG’s marketing tactic and giving us stress. LOL! Also, I just wanted to remind you all this content for BABYMONSTER was complied by all their filming and evaluations of last year…from April 2022-October 2022.. people say it’s only spring/summer, but judging by the YG senior artists hairstyles and activities last year..notably Chanhyuk and his shaven blonde hair..that was when he had his solo debut back in October 2022. But I digress, I think Yang Hyunsuk truly was going to go with 5. But after the last 2 performances aka the last 2 episodes he saw the potential in them as a 7 member group even the YG senior artists, producers, and choreographers enjoyed seeing all 7 of them. So.. it got him changing his mind. Oh and just to let you know Haram dyed her hair blonde in the later part of 2022.. fans saw her with her blonde hair and well she showed it off at her high school entrance ceremony in March 1st. So I felt the announcement happened most likely in January before the girls celebrated their birthdays. Why? Look at the girls’ ages in the announcement video. It’s incorrect…. Currently, Ruka turned 21 in March, Chiquita turned 14 in Feb, Asa turned 17 last month, and Ahyeon turned 16 last month too. You think they would have the correct ages if they filmed it recently right? So it was not real time. But regardless of all that, I’m just really proud and extremely excited for the girls. ALL OF THEM ARE DEBUTING AND DAMN THEY’RE GOING TO SHOCK THE WORLD. I heard that they’re going to be mix of like BIG MAMA with the strong vocals + OG YG HIP HOP *ahem* RAP MONSTERS RUKA AND ASA (Ahyeon as well with her sassy rapping) + concept of strong girl crush 2NE1, but more fresh and younger take of it similar to BLACKPINK. As YHS said, BABYMONSTER has the genes of YG..they’re going to be a mix of all of them. They’re going to versatile af and I’m hoping they’ll go more in the r&b route so I can hear those soulful vocals of Rora and Haram and the strong beautiful vocals of Ahyeon, Pharita, and Chiquita. Also, let’s give Asa and Ruka some vocal moments too.. Asa has shown she can sing and when Ruka does sing..she has a very pretty tone..it has a little huskiness, but still has a hint of sweetness in it.
