Hi my dear everyone! After weeks of headaches, I've finally come up with an engine for the future game stories & quests! (using dummy avatars & branches for now, just to test the thing) "But implementing stories & quests is easy!" some of you could argue. Indeed it is! But only if you plan to do it manually and/or for a small closed flash minigames! Problem is : it's absolutely not the plan, for Sexforge! It will have a tremendous amount of potentially complex stories and quests! Seasons, chapters, NPC or factions or race entire arcs! My past experience (on KoPC or Wendy, but not only) proved you HAVE to figure it out now! You can't change the engine 6 or 12 months later, because you ended up spending 23 hours a day to manually implement countless new stories, without any time left to produce anything else! And Sexforge should have several writers, too, to top it all! So, as for every aspect of the game, I got to plan and program complex engines, so in the future, it will work itself automatically, with very little maintenance. And that is a long and hard process, when I know you would prefer a quick small game in a few weeks, in order to play right away! But it can only be easier, once bricks of powerful engines will come together, and I have a few bucks to make time to dive far deeper into that and commissionning tons of stuff, to produce some alpha demo as soon as possible to build upon! And for now, rejoice, because the story/quest engine was a very big one, and even if I still got a lot of work to interface it properly, it seems to come up very nicely!
