Hi folks! Just thought that I would update people on what's going on since it's been a while since I last pushed an update.

Long story short, I have quit my research position as I was not enjoying it- I'm not "full time" on the generator as my days are currently being spent preparing to get married (!!!!). After I get married, December onwards will be totally free for me to spend a more considerable amount of time on the generator. I'm also literally two sessions away from my 3 year campaign ending, which eats up a not insignificant amount of time.

Another long story short: the generator's Twine codebase makes it unwieldy to work with, and a modern framework such as Svelte would make for a far more pleasant developer experience, as well as bring modern conveniences like logging in, user profiles, cloud hosting, etc. to the town generator experience that you all know and love.

I had the discussion about where my efforts should be spent with a couple of people on the Discord server a while back (which you should definitely join if you haven't already!), and the general consensus was that this was a worthwhile path for me to take, even at the cost of activity on Eigengrau's; I've seen a couple of the Patreon exit-surveys mention a lack of activity, so if it makes a difference, I have been busy spending my free time getting the skeletons of this new project in place- which I am code-naming...

drum roll....

Project Sprawl

Don't know if the name will stick, but until then, when I refer to Project Sprawl, you'll now know what I'm talking about- the modern rebuild of Eigengrau's. I should note that I'm not planning on abandoning Eigengrau's, and will continue to work on it until there is rough feature parity between the two. Out of curiosity, I ran `sloc` on it to see how many lines of code I'm up to, and at the moment, I'm sitting on the following stats:

Compared to Eigengrau's 115,000 odd lines of code (though I should also add that the majority of Eigengrau's is data, which will be straight ported over)- it's a pleasing amount of progress (especially considering that I'm going to the depths of characters inheriting genetic traits, a new level of detail that will be massively easier to tinker with), and I'm excited to share more stuff about the rebuild in the new year.

To re-iterate: Eigengrau's is not going anywhere. I will continue to add features to it, and will spend the newfound extra time from being unemployed (yayyy) on the rebuilt version.

Thank you for all of your support- I've got some really exciting ideas that I can't wait to implement in this nice new framework!
